Post 7: A person/expert
on your field that you admire.
The person that I
admire is Erwin Schrödinger an austrian
physicist. He earned the Nobel Prize in Physics with Paul Diract im 1933 for
their contribution on quantum mechanics.
In 1927 he published a series
of articles that laid the foundation for modern undulate quantum mechanics and
in which he transcribed in partial derivatives his famous differential equation.
Relating the energy associated with a microscopic particle with its own wave
function described by the particle. He deduced this result after adopting the
hypothesis of De Broglie, enunciated in 1924. According to that hypothesis,
matter and microscopic particles, this one especially, are dual nature and
behave both as a wave and body. The Schrödinger equation results in wave functions related
to the probability that a certain physical event is given, as it may be a
specific position of an electron in its orbit around the nucleus.
In 1927 he accepted an
invitation from the University of Berlin to the chair of Max Planck, and there
came into contact with some of the most distinguished scientists of the time,
including Albert Einstein.
In 1935 he proposed an
imaginary experiment to explain some of the most counterintuitive
interpretations of quantum mechanics. The famous Schrödinger’s cat.
poor cat, is alive?
