Holiday

My plans for these vacations are staying in home. All my family is going to go to de beach, and someone has to stay in home to take care of the house and the dog, this year will be my turn to stay in home, I haven´t any problem at all. I will have my own rhythm and routine for almost three of four weeks.  So the only problem that I have is the fact that I don´t know how to cook! But with youtube, I hope that I won´t have so much trouble with cooking, the worst thing that could happen is that I burn the house. Anyway, these vacations are going to be great, not just because I´ll be learning to survive, also is because I´ll have the house just for me, and that includes my friends and my girlfriend. Actually I already know what I´m going to do, I´ll get up early, I´ll do the housework, and I´m going to study jajaja yes, of course. I´ll get up late, I’ll do the housework if I have time, and I´ll invite my friends to my house, I´ll invite my girlfriend to my house, I’ll have to learn cooking or I’ll die of starvation. And if my will can handle it, I´ll study to be prepared for the next academic year.

Another thing, is that I´ll do many things that I couldn´t do during this academic half-year, like read, I love to read and I can´t do it because of studying! 

drugs of abuse

The term drug abuse defines better what we understand colloquially as a drug: "non-medical substance with psychoactive effects (capable of producing changes in perception, mood, consciousness and behavior) and susceptible to being self-administered." So the difference between a drug and a drug of abuse is not given by pharmacological, chemical or medical criteria, but by two small nuances of instrumental and social type: that is the individual himself who administered the substance without a prescription, and that the objective is different from the cure of a pathology. In fact, some substances can be considered drugs or drugs of abuse depending on the context, like steroids for example. The only drug that maybe could be considered drug of abuse that I’ve consumed is alcohol, nothing more, and not even in high quantity.

So I can’t talk much about the felling of consuming drugs, but the most common reasons that people consume drugs are the social cause, and the pleasure that is filled at the moment of consuming drugs, known by the fact that drugs stimulates or depress the brain, and pleasure moods.

A really bad thing is that drugs usually create dependence on the user, so it’s difficult to stop consuming. And later, to top of the difficulty of stop consuming, appeared the abstinence syndrome if you stop consuming abruptly.

I think almost every university student is an often consumer of drugs, not necessarily an addictive, but drugs becomes necessary at one point of the career, and if consuming drugs doesn't becomes an addiction, is not that bad. 

Postgraduate studies $$$

There are many reasons to do postgraduate studies, like learning more about a specific topic, getting better chances to be contracted by someone, or increasing your abilities in your area of work, or to be included in your curriculum to earn more money. Personally I would like to work in the investigations area, specifically in the physical chemical area. So I would like to do a postgraduate course in physical chemistry, or something related to that. I think I might do the course in Chile, but if I get the chance to go outside the country, to countries like Germany or France I will not lose the opportunity. In the future I won’t know how much time I will have at my disposal, so it’s probably that I will have to get a blended system for the course, but I hope that I can take face-to-face classes, in a par-time course ultimately.

The sad part of the story is that this postgraduates courses are very, very expensive, and I don’t have too many money to spend in postgraduates courses, so I will have to work very hard so I can take the one I’m interested on. Another way is that I could get a grant to study or that my boss send me to do a specialization or something by the style.  

My future job

For my future job I expect to work in a job related to what I’m studying now, chemistry. So I will get mi title and a master in something and work, probably in a company or in a laboratory. But also I would like to work as a teacher at the University. Something that I dude is that I will work outdoors, I will work outdoors, but I hope that not so much.

Another thing is that I want to be the best at my business, so I will have to travel a lot to increase my knowledge. Like taking courses or visiting other companies or places related with my works area.

And about salary I don’t expect too much, I think that I would have to work very hard to earn a good a salary, because sometimes, the scientific are is not so popular.

Now I’m studying chemistry, and in the future I would like to specialize myself in the area of physical chemistry. I don´t even have the basics of that, but everybody says that it’s very complicated, so I’m looking forward to that course. For me knowing how the world work as it works now it’s the best prize that I could get, and that world of physical chemistry I think is the door that will open to me answers to that question.
